Dear Diary

Dear Diary,

The other day at the supermarket I bumped into old Peggy and we
chatted.

At some point, she got all flirty and asked me, "How old do you think I
am?"

There is no right answer to that and certainly not the truth like, "You
don't look a day older than 87" so, non-committally I replied, "You
don't look old..."

She said, "You are sweet, but you know, I'm approaching 65."

With hindsight, perhaps I should not have asked, "From which
direction?"
