Dear Diary,

All the supermarkets in this town have checkout counters with a sign
"10 items or less."

"Less" being grammatically wrong, I walked into those supermarkets with
a marker, covered "less" and wrote "fewer" above it.

However, instead of thanking me for the public service I was doing,
they slapped me with a restraining order.

Go figure.
